A Lesson Learned

Ah, waking up without an alarm is one of the true joys of the weekend.

I know I say something along those lines every Saturday/Sunday. And I’m thinking that is not going to change any time soon.

Of course, my day started off with coffee. Gloria Jean’s French vanilla supreme is like a dessert!

I had plans to run outside this morning, but at first glance, it looked like a gloomy cold day.

Luckily, I didn’t let that stop me because despite the lack of sun, it was actually a perfect day to run!

Pre-run: banana with almond butter and cinnamon

This run taught me something: do not eat 5 olive garden breadsticks the night before (or really any time, for that matter) you plan to run.

I felt like I had a rock in my stomach. Yuck! Thank god my parents live along my running route, if you know what I mean!

Lesson learned.

I ran 2.5 miles in 23 minutes, stopped at my parents to use their bathroom facilities and then took the pup on a walk with my Mama and niece.

I was planning to run back home, but my Mom drove me instead! I wasn’t feeling it and sometimes you just have to listen to your body!

Post-run fuel:

  • Roasted Brussels
  • Roasted Broccoli
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Matchstick carrots
  • Cucumber
  • Avocado
  • Salsa + Hummus
  • topped with sriracha and crushed tortilla chips

Time to shower and get ready for a fun kid’s birthday party!

It’s at FunFlatables, which is basically a huge room filled with tons of ‘bouncy things.’ Technical, I know. But how could that not be fun?

Plus, there will be Costco cake!
