Hey guys! How has your weekend been? Mine’s been pretty great so far. Especially after a nice little break from technology for the majority of the day!
But here I am! I’ll always come back. ![]()
A few posts (who needs time references when you can use a reference to posts?) ago I mentioned that Sam (the boy) and I were going to do the p90x program together.
Welllll that hasn’t happened yet! Like I said, he doesn’t work out often (to my dismay), but he swears he wants to get back on the exercise train.
You know what I think? Doing some form of exercise is better than doing nothing at all!
And with that notion, he agreed to do Turbofire HIIT 15 with me! HA! I promise he didn’t wear a neon sports bra and spandex shorts.
He did, however, admit that we should post his attempt at Turbofire on YouTube.
It’s totally YouTube-worthy because he’s about as coordinated as a baby taking his first steps. No joke!
It’s kind of hard to do a 40-second burst of intense exercise when you’re laughing so hard you can’t breath. ![]()
Anyway, exercise fails aside, we still plan on doing p90x. I’ll let you know when this plan is actually implemented.
Let’s rewind to yesterday.
I worked all day, so my meals were of the lunchbox variety.
My breakfast originally involved warm oats but they exploded in the 1960’s microwave, so I topped my peach Chobani with Cinnamon oatmeal squares instead.
I have to admit, I’m kind of happy that my work hasn’t shelled out money for a new microwave I don’t know how to use an ancient microwave because this was pretty tasty!
Lunch was a huge lettuce-less salad.
- Warm Spinach
- Cherry tomatoes
- Baby Carrots
- Spicy Black Bean Burger
- Hummus-Mustard Dressing
Nothing you haven’t seen before. But delicious nonetheless. ![]()
Snackage.
After work I met the family for dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Which, big shocker, does not have a vegetarian-friendly menu.
So I ordered:
- a side of seasonal veggies <—dripping in butter :/
- and a chopped bleu cheese & candied pecan salad <—YUM!
Moscato d’Asti. The memorable part of the meal. ![]()
We came home, watched The Karate Kid, and called it a night.
This morning I slept in until 9:30! I feel so refreshed after a solid 9 hours of sleep! Keep in mind that I usually get around 5-6 per night. Not good, I know!
So how about the kitty win?
Well for the past week or so, we have been visiting local shelters in the hopes of adopting a kitten for our family.
Today we found the one! Well, Adam found the one, but in the end it was a mutual decision.
This poor baby was born in the shelter and so he hasn’t even seen the outside world! We just had to adopt him. So far, so good.
He has even already done his business in the litter box! ![]()
When we first brought him home, Adam was getting him acquainted with his new home and I heard him say “just wait, you are going to love it here!” Heart-melter right there!
The kitty’s name is Georgie. We can’t decide whether we are going to re-name him. Would that be wrong to do so?
If you have any tips for first-time cat owners—please send them our way!
Well I’m off to eat some dinner and relax for the night!
I’ll be back tomorrow with a recipe for Ancient Grains Almond Butter Granola Bites!
Have a great night! ![]()
