Cookies and Juicing

When my son and his Dad leave to run errands, what do I do? Oh yeah, that’s right, I blast loud music and re-organize the kitchen cabinets. Gosh, my life is so fun! ;)

One thing we I loved about our home when we first viewed it were the huge and spacious kitchen cabinets.

But, there are a few downsides to this: more room to shove extra items leaving the cabinets filled with--
a.) expired stuff
b.) unnecessary items
c.) a disorganized and cluttered mess!

My problem was d.) all of the above!

When cleaning out the cabinets, I found a few items I had forgotten about!

Here are those dang birthday candles! Sorry, Mom! Last weekend, my Mom had to run out and get some during my son’s birthday party because I couldn’t find mine. Oops! I knew I had some!

I was also really able to de-clutter by pitching all the expired stuff!

Before:

 After:

Not too shabby, eh?

Of course, snacking went down.

I bought these cookies for my son but so far I have been the only one to grub on them! They’re so good! I think I ate 6 of them, which is 3 servings… Cookies for lunch? Why not!

I also had some TJ’s Cilantro JalapeƱo Hummus with Mary’s Gone Crackers.

For some reason, I’ve been feeling a little sickness coming on, so I broke out the veggies and got to juicing! Do you like how I went from stuffing myself with cookies to downing fresh juice? Yep, it’s all about balance folks! :)

Into the juicer went:
½ Beet
2 Big Carrots
Bunch o’ Kale
Celery
2/3 Green Apple

I’ve never added Kale to juice before—simply because I usually stick to spinach. But it was pretty darn good. Let’s hope this helps ward off whatever bug may be coming my way!

I’m off. My son and I are about to take advantage of this beautiful weather and go for a bike ride.

What do you do when you feel a little wonky or under the weather?

I love your pantry space, I can only dream of that much space in my kitchen. I like your tea stash too...I love teas.

I just found your blog and I've enjoyed reading it. I look forward to reading more of your posts. I also like everything you said on your About Me page. Everyone has their journey to health, one step at a time...each step redefining our journey.

I clean up cabinets. Seriously, that actually makes me feel a lot better when I'm feeling wonky. Just to get organized physically, makes me feel sorta more organized emotionally, too, you know?

It feels so good to clean out the cabinets! And sometimes you find ingredients that you forgot about that inspire you to make new dishes! It's a win-win.

Just found your blog and I love the healthy recipes and honest approach! Thanks for posting pix, they are so helpful to those of us who have a harder time visualizing things :) Looking to make healthier stuff using salmon and tuna (omega 3's are what my Dr ordered). Any ideas? I will ck your archives as well.

I believe what you composed was actually very logical. But, what about this?
suppose you added a little information? I ain't saying your information is not good, but what if you added something that makes people desire more? I mean "Cookies and Juicing" is a little plain. You ought to peek at Yahoo's home
page and note how they write news titles to grab viewers to click.
You might add a video or a related pic or two to grab people excited about what you've written. In my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year
old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear
and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

naturally like your web-site but you need to take a look at the spelling on several
of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very troublesome to tell the truth then again I'll definitely come back again.

Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you're working with? I'm planning
to start my own blog soon but I'm having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I'm
looking for something unique. P.
S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
